Off to Great American Scrapbook Convention

It's finally here - the big day. Melody has all the merchandise and supplies packed up to go. Our personal bags are packed. I'm just catching up on computer work while they sleep. Today is our first big in person event - 2 Scrappy Chix Designs will be at the Great American Scrapbook Convention in Chantilly this weekend.

An amazing amount of thought and planning goes into one of these things. Even now, knowing all we need to do is load my husband's truck and hit the road, I'm still a nervous wreck. We've got the metal grid stuff on the roof of the truck - my husband is going to attach my paper racks as well. I'm going to feel like a circus train driving on the interstate with the vehicle full to the brim and overflowing with white metal on the roof. Hopefully nothing will fly off as we toodle down the road to the event.

Are you going to be there? If so, be sure to stop by and say hi! We'll be in booth 523 and would love to put faces to names.

Seems like my life has been in hyperdrive since I bought the "store" last month. There are a multitude of tasks involved in having a store - taxes, software, setting up accounts with vendors, meeting an accountant, inventory management, website management, setting up my design team and working with them to develop our soon to be revealed July offering. YIKES - Scotty, beam me up!

The weirdest part of all is that I'm wondering if it will ever slow down a bit so I can breathe again. I guess it must or those who have been doing it already would have died of exhaustion. I'm trying to set up one event a month for us. That might be too big an ambition. Next month, we'll be attending CHA. That's something I've wanted to do forever (since I first heard about it, of course) and now I have a legitmate reason to attend. If I could only win the lottery before I go, I could order a gazillion things and have an incredible time. Ah well, we'll have a good time anyway.

Time to get ready to hit the road. I'll try to share photos when I get back, but no promises. Eventually I'll start posting the monthly kit previews here to make it more interesting. For now, you just get my intermittent ramblings. Thanks for sharing my life.
